One of the most common workflows in church administration is moving member data between systems β from Excel spreadsheets, from previous software, or simply generating lists for specific purposes. We have significantly improved this workflow in StewardTrack, and here is what changed.
What Is New in Data Export
You can now export member data in three formats: CSV for Excel, PDF for printing, and a StewardTrack-native format for backup and migration purposes. More importantly, you can now choose exactly which fields to include in your export. Previously, the export included all fields in a fixed order. Now you can select specific fields β useful when you are generating a list for a specific purpose and do not want to share more information than necessary.
Filtered Exports
Combine the field selection with StewardTrack's member filters to export exactly the list you need. For example: all active members in the youth ministry with name and contact number only, all members with birthdays in the next 30 days, or all members who have not attended in the last 60 days.
What Is New in Data Import
The import process now includes a column mapping step β you no longer need to format your spreadsheet to exactly match our template. Upload your file, tell StewardTrack which column in your spreadsheet maps to which field in the system, and the import handles the rest.
Duplicate detection has also been improved. The system now flags potential duplicates based on name plus phone number or name plus birthday, and lets you choose whether to merge, skip, or import as new.
Data Security and Privacy
Exports are logged in the audit trail. You can see who exported what data and when. This matters for churches that handle sensitive member information and need to demonstrate compliance with data privacy requirements.
