There is a version of church management software that reduces people to records โ names, contact numbers, giving totals. We built StewardTrack to be different, and the discipleship plans feature is one of the clearest expressions of that.
A discipleship plan is a structured pathway for a member's spiritual growth. It might include Bible study completion, mentorship sessions, ministry involvement milestones, or baptism preparation. Whatever your church's discipleship pathway looks like, StewardTrack lets you track it at the individual level.
Why Track Discipleship at All?
Pastors and elders of growing churches face a real challenge: it is impossible to personally track the spiritual journey of every member. A discipleship tracking system does not replace personal relationships โ it supports them. When a pastor sits down with a member, they can see at a glance: What stage is this person at? What has been assigned to them? What has been completed?
Setting Up a Discipleship Plan Template
In StewardTrack, you can create plan templates that define the stages and milestones of your church's discipleship pathway. For example:
- Stage 1: New Believer โ complete new member orientation, assigned a spiritual mentor
- Stage 2: Growing Disciple โ joined a connect group, completed the discipleship workbook
- Stage 3: Serving Disciple โ active in at least one ministry, completed leadership foundations
- Stage 4: Reproducing Disciple โ mentoring at least one new believer
Once the template exists, you can assign it to any member and track their progress through each stage.
Care Plans for Pastoral Follow-Up
Alongside discipleship plans, StewardTrack's care plans let you assign specific follow-up tasks to any member. "Follow up after hospitalization," "Check in after family loss," "Reach out โ has not attended in 6 weeks." These are assigned to a responsible elder or pastor and tracked until completed.
The combination of discipleship plans and care plans means no member falls through the cracks โ not because you have perfect memory, but because the system reminds you.
"We used to joke that our church's discipleship program was just pray and hope they grow. Now we actually track it." โ Small Group Pastor, New Life Church, Bacolod
